Ross is the Managing Director of The Glasgow Law Practice, providing strategic leadership and overseeing the firm’s day-to-day operations. As a member of the senior management team, he is responsible for the firm’s continued growth, operational performance, client experience and regulatory compliance, while ensuring the firm’s values remain at the heart of everything it does.

Alongside his management responsibilities, Ross is an experienced Solicitor Advocate with a well-established practice in serious criminal litigation. He specialises in High Court prosecutions, private and regulatory crime, fatal accident inquiries and professional misconduct proceedings, and is regularly instructed to represent clients before courts, tribunals and disciplinary bodies throughout Scotland.

Ross joined the firm as a trainee solicitor in 2001 and has played a central role in its development ever since. He was appointed Director in 2007, qualified as a Solicitor Advocate in 2014 and became Managing Director in 2023, having spent more than two decades helping shape the firm’s growth and reputation.

Throughout his career, Ross has represented clients facing the full spectrum of criminal allegations, from road traffic offences to the most serious cases prosecuted in the High Court of Justiciary. His current practice focuses on serious crime, regulatory investigations, professional discipline, road traffic prosecutions, including fatal road traffic cases, and Fatal Accident Inquiries. He regularly acts for professionals appearing before disciplinary panels and has extensive experience representing both bereaved families and professional witnesses in Fatal Accident Inquiry proceedings.

Ross also has a particular interest in child law and has appeared extensively before Children’s Hearings and Children’s Referral proceedings. He is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a Trauma Informed Lawyer, reflecting his commitment to supporting vulnerable clients with sensitivity and professionalism.

Beyond his own practice, Ross is committed to maintaining the highest professional standards within the legal profession. He regularly delivers Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training to fellow solicitors and those entering the profession and serves as a Criminal Quality Assurance Peer Reviewer for the Scottish Legal Aid Board.

As Managing Director, Ross has led a number of significant initiatives to modernise the firm. He played a leading role in the firm’s rebrand and continues to drive investment in legal technology, digital working practices and service improvements that enhance the experience of both clients and colleagues. He is responsible for delivering the firm’s strategic growth plans, fostering a positive workplace culture and ensuring the business continues to evolve while maintaining the high standards of service on which its reputation has been built.

Ross also has responsibility for client relations and Cashroom compliance, ensuring the firm continues to meet the highest standards of client care, governance and financial management.

Known for his approachable manner, sound judgement and practical advice, Ross combines extensive advocacy experience with a modern and forward-looking approach to legal practice and business leadership.
