Louise Bain

Louise is a Legal Director within the Civil Department. She joined the firm in 2012 as a Solicitor, was promoted to Senior Solicitor in March 2019, promoted to Associate in January 2024 and Legal Director in 2025.

As part of her role, Louise provides advice on various matters, including Family Law, Powers of Attorney, Wills, Guardianship Orders, Child Law matters, including representation at Children’s Hearings and Employment Law. She has experience in advising clients and providing representation in Regulatory matters. She regularly assists clients with matters being investigated by Regulatory bodies such as the General Teaching Council, Scottish Social Services Council, General Medical Council and Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Louise is on the North Lanarkshire Council’s List of Solicitors prepared to act as Financial Guardians. She has also assisted Macmillan Cancer Support’s Information Development Team with their “Work and Cancer” Booklet series.

She has extensive experience in representing clients daily in court proceedings relating to child contact disputes, separation and divorce. She also assists clients in obtaining Guardianship Orders so that they can assist their friends and family members who cannot make decisions for themselves due to a lack of capacity.

Louise also regularly provides advice and guidance to clients regarding drafting Wills and deeds of Power of Attorney. She is part of the Solicitors for Older People Scotland group.

As a Legal Director and part of the firm’s leadership team, Louise has responsibility for the management of all files and ensuring cases are progressed efficiently. Louise is well-liked by clients and colleagues due to her professional but friendly manner and her approachability.
