A 31 year old woman was imprisoned for 8 months this week after being caught drink driving for the third time, according to the Daily Record.
Louise Seatter, a human resources executive, was more than five times the legal limit when she was caught in Aberdeen last December. In addition she did not have a full licence or insurance as she had received a ban for drink driving just weeks before.
In her defence her lawyer stated that she had only driven in that state in order to escape from a date with a “creepy” man, and that she had an alcohol addiction for which she was now receiving treatment.
However in the face of previous repeated warnings that she faced a prison sentence if caught drink driving again, the Sheriff felt that a custodial sentence was appropriate.
She was also banned from driving for three years and her car was seized by the Crown.
