New/Young Drivers Representation Glasgow
Newly qualified drivers are subject to a 2 year probationary period under the Road Traffic (New Drivers) Act 1995. The 2 year probationary period commences from the date the driver first passed their driving test. If 6 or more penalty points are accumulated before the expiry of the 2 years the licence will be revoked. The driver in effect reverts back to a provisional licence holder and he/she must sit and pass another driving test before they will regain entitlement to drive.
